Rapid growth and success is what every entrepreneur wants. But it also comes with worries. At mental health care provider BuurtzorgT, founded in 2013 by Jos de Blok and Nico Moleman, rapid growth led to a chronic shortage of working capital. They solved that by, as the first care organization in the world, using the ownership construction Steward Ownership. Very briefly put: the idealistic German-Swiss investor bought the ownership shares, for millions of euros, but BuurtzorgT remains in charge of itself. Purpose Evergreen Capital gets no control.
